The attraction of the area is well known since the most remote past: the marks of the man can be found at the prehistorical caves of Serinyà, in the Greek and Roman constructions in Empúries, in the Iberic town of Ullastret and on the buildings and ruins of all times and styles: medieval villages in Monells, Pals and Peratallada, the old town of Tossa de Mar, the Romanic monasteries of Sant Pere de Rodes and Ripoll or the bridge of Besalú, the monastery of the valley of Núria, the ancient fishing village of Cadaqués, the Jewish quarter in Girona or the Gothic Girona cathedral, among others.
Art
Art can also be seen in the most diverse forms: from the ceramic of la Bisbal d’Empordà to the brilliant Dalí, which the visitors may discover followint the steps of the “Dalí triangle”: Púbol, the Theater-Museum of Figueres and Portlligat.
Barcelona
Barcelona, the Catalan capital city and an important tourist attraction, also offers, within an hour distance, scores of activities and places to visit: Sagrada Família, the Camp Nou, the old town, its cultural offer, etc.
